Fall begins!

Having purchased some black dishes at last, I am now using them for fall along with some gold stoneware and of course, the Amber glassware.    Earlier this year I had to replace my black teapot, the old one broke, it was ceramic and not as strong as stoneware so for my next one I was determined to get a round stoneware teapot.   Here it is below.  Now I wanted a creamer and sugar to go with it but I didn't want ceramic and I didn't want porcelain or china and the Fiestaware stoneware versions just didn't "speak to me".  What did speak to me is below.

I found exactly what I wanted in, of all things, black GLASS!   Just as soon as these arrive I will whip up a tea-tablescape.
There is also a black Fiestaware butter dish coming .  This little beauty is on it's way to me now and the moment it arrives and is washed, a stick of butter is going into it!
Product ImageAnd last but not least the Fall Table Linens will have to come out which is an undertaking I will have document since it occurs twice a year.
I have been looking at other tablescape blogs and seeing how they store their dishes and table linens and it has inspired me to do likewise.

July breakfast

Breakfast on a July morning, posted on the first day of August.  In June and July I like to try and use blue dishes and at least once this marvelous blue roses tablecloth.  The breakfast itself consisted of tea, water, a tortilla sprinkled with cheese and topped with avocado.  Yes, a bit weird but very satisfying.  There is my beloved white porcelain pitcher which just never leaves the table.
Here you can see the current "breakfast book" - The Empress's Ring by Nancy Hale.

Blessing

In an effort to learn to say this blessing before meals, I wrote it up on real vellum (a scrap I had) and mounted it in this frame.  It sits on or near the table so we can refer to it.  It is is working too, I have it all but memorized and now just have to remember to say it.

New Tea-Cup and Plate, Tea for one

I had tea this past weekend while working on a puzzle (to ease overstressed arms).   I used my new pink teacup & a milk glass plate I found which just is so pretty for teatime snacks.

New teacup!

This is a Wedgewod cup I found yesterday in an antique mall, for the amazing price of $6.00!

May breakfast

Breakfast with Mapp and Lucia this could almost be called as that is the book that is open.
What is new?   A silverplate butter dish and the doily on my silver tray.

This is a pillow the cover of which I made long ago, in the Arts and Crafts style.
The purse, to the right, is new, just finished making it in a workshop yesterday.
